Longtime collaborator, Eli Sudbrack of assume vivid astro focus, asked me to contribute two videos to the Galeria Melissa Soho inaugural exhibition.
For the project, I created two long-form animation pieces designed to work with the architecture of the store. The video on the back wall was mapped to line up with the segmentation of the walls that appeared throughout the entire store. At times, the video was constrained and defined by the lines, and other times, it disregarded them completely.
The second video was created for the area at the bottom of the spiral staircase. It mimicked the spiral of the architecture through to the rounded floor and seamlessly interacted with the space.
Both pieces incorporated imagery produced by Eli that was visible throughout all the elements of the store installation.
